Description
Ondine or Female Nude with Outstretched Arms and Female Nude with Folded Arms are two small sculptures by Honorio García Condoy made in painted boxwood dating from his first period, 1927-1929, in which he was influenced by both the African sculpture from the Gulf of Guinea and Art Deco. The spindle-like, stylised female figure with its smooth and shiny surface was at the time an innovation by this great Aragonese sculptor, who was becoming a part of the avant-garde art scene in Spain during the years he spent in Madrid.
