Description

Salvador Victoria, born in the province of Teruel, painted the large-format work Rut-es in 1988, when he was at the height of his career as a well-renowned figure in Spain for his outstanding abstract work. The painting displays his talent for composition in circles and spheres, reflecting the cosmic and spatial direction in which his artistic investigation would lead him in the world of Abstract art. This planet-like form in bluish-white hues, with a luminous halo or spectrum, in an unlimited cosmos, depicts magmatic activity, which seems to produce the dark blue splotches launched into space, expressed not by a rational process, but by an impulse that gives life to them.
