This is a rough sketch or draft depicting the Virgin Mary crowning Saint Teresa. It is unfinished, and together with The Virgin bestowing a necklace upon Saint Teresa in the presence of Saint Joseph, the two works represent different compositions on the same subject. Both are reminiscent of Italian compositions, in the style of Piazetta. In some areas, the unprepared wood is visible, as Goya left them unfinished.
