An early work by Bayeu, already reflecting the rococo style. In the painting, the Virgin and Child occupy the center and focal point of the composition, standing on a cloud. She strikes an elegant pose and wears a pink tunic, a blue cloak, and a greenish-ochre scarf that covers her head and crosses over her chest. In her right hand, she holds a rosary of black glass beads on a red thread with a medallion, and the Infant Jesus, seated on a footstool supported by two cherub heads, offers a rose to his mother. To her left and at the Virgin’s feet, child angels in foreshortened perspective hold roses. And cherub heads appear at the top.
