These two portraits of the couple were painted by the Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Guayasamín. Both paintings stand out for their vivid use of color, which lends great expressiveness to the work.
Especially in the portrait of Camón Aznar, we can see loose brushstrokes that add movement and interest to these portraits. Both pieces have a caricature-like quality, possibly heavily influenced by his work as a muralist, yet they capture the full range of emotion and character of the subjects.
